Solid State Physics
The Division of Solid State Physics at Lund University engages in research and education in nanoscience, specifically in materials science, in the physics of low-dimensional semiconductors, and in their interdisciplinary applications.
Our scientific focus is on the synthesis, processing, physics and applications of semiconductor nanostructures. Our research can broadly be divided into: materials science, including epitaxial growth and nanoparticle synthesis; exploratory nanotechnology, including novel patterning methods; fundamental physics, including optical spectroscopy and electrical transport in quantum systems; energy, including nanothermodynamics, photovoltaics and solid state lighting; ICT, including photonics and electronics; and biomedical applications and nanosafety, including cell-nanostructure interactions, microfluidics and molecular motors.
